We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; 
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; 
that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.


          Most nations emerge from tribes. Our nation emerges from a proposition, an idea to which our founders assented, as must all people who would call themselves Americans. Join us as we explore the profound meaning of this one sentence from the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson’s “expression of the American mind” and our national creed.
